Scientific poster competition guidelines:
The scientific committee of PCOMS invites entries for scientific poster presentations.
- Abstract Submission for Oral Paper Presentation & Poster Calendar :

Oral Presentation Layout
- Abstract submission is open till 15th November 2017. Please email your abstracts : abstract@paoms.org.pk
- The abstract should not be longer than 250 words, and should be arranged under the following headlines
- Title: Should be less than 10 words, and best descriptive of the nature of the study
- Category / Genre: Under one of the following categories:
- Minor oral surgery
- Dental implants
- Facial trauma
- Facial deformity
- Clinical maxillofacial pathology
- Reconstructive surgery
- Temporomandibular joint disorders
- Cleft & craniofacial surgery
- Mmm
- Authors: A maximum of 5 authors is permitted. Each author should have his/her institutional affiliation detailed. The presenting author/main author should have a phone number (preferably with Whatsapp), email & Mailing address details clearly for correspondence.
- Introduction
- Aims/Objectives
- Materials & methods
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Keywords; MeSH terms
- The abstract should be submitted in an MS-word document form (*.doc or *.docx)
- The scientific committee will notify the presenting/main author of the acceptance of the abstracts by 1st November 2017.
- Abstracts will be considered for acceptance only after ascertaining the registered status of the presenting author.
- POSTER LAYOUT
- The poster should be presented on a maximum surface area of 36” x 48”. Though there are no minimum surface area limits, the poster details, including pictures should be clearly legible from 5 feet distance.
- The poster layout can be made either on printouts or drawings pasted on a poster paper measuring .
- Panaflex printouts are also permissible.
- The committee will provide a designated area for poster display, and means to display it through various ways.
- Arial and Times New Roman are preferred font types. Calibri can also be used in special circumstances.
- Graphs/tabulations and pictures should be clear and best descriptive of the nature of the study.
- The posters should have been displayed latest by 1000 hours on the 1st day of the conference. It is not mandatory for the presenting author/s to be present along side after this, except for the time when these posters will be judged by the panel. The viewing time will be from 1100-1300 hours on 2nd day of the conference, when the presenting author/s will need to be present alongside to explain the poster. Results will be announced on the 2nd day gala dinner, with prizes for the top position holders.
